The survivor is robbed of his
The survivor is robbed of his or her innocence, core identity and trust. It is ‘violence’ that does not require force. The child is thrown into a state of shock. For some the memories remain conscious, while others drive them beneath the conscious level. These coping mechanisms are carried into adulthood and impact the person’s life on every level.
If a professional asks: “What is wrong with you?” or “What happened to you?” find another professional. Asking, “What is wrong with you?” or “What happened to you?” implies blame, sickness and fault. Asking, “What did you experience growing up?”?allows the person to begin the process of discovering the source of their pain and healing the wounds.
1. What is your approach to the recovery process? The basic recovery process is: Discovery, Heal, Discovery, Heal. Processing feelings and uncovering the layers of pain–”Going into the Pain to get out of the Pain.” “There is no gain without pain.” If the professional is unable to give you a process similar to this, thank the professional for their time and call another professional.
2. Do you allow short phone conversations (10 – 15 min.) between sessions? If the answer is, “NO.” Thank the professional for their time and call another professional.

Make Your Own Medicine: Sore Throat

ECHINACEA has a beneficial effect on the immune system, as well as a numbing effect on the throat. Add the antiseptic properties of cloves and sage, and the cooling effect of peppermint and you have an excellent remedy.
You’ll need: 3 cloves 5 peppermint leaves, finely chopped 5 sage leaves, finely chopped 30 ml echinacea (from health food shops) PLACE the cloves, peppermint and sage leaves in a small glass bowl, then add the echinacea tincture. Cover and leave to stand for two weeks in a cool, dark place. Gradually, the colour will change. Strain the liquid through a looseweaved muslin placed in a strainer, squeezing all the liquid from the herbs by hand

The current will also
The current will also wiggle the little nymph all around.
Thus, when the nymph is directly downstream from you, hold the
nymph there for a couple of seconds, and then gradually raise the
tip of your fly rod, which will bring the nymph a bit further up
from the depths of the river. This is the most likely point of a
strike using this method.
This is a nice method for beginners, as it is all done by feel,
not by sight. You do not need to use a strike indicator for this
nymph fly fishing method. Instead, since the fly line will be
tense at all times, you will feel a trout strike immediately.
Moreover, setting the hook is a snap too, since the trout will
hook itself when it takes your fly – due to the tight tension in
the fly line.
So, what?s wrong with this beginner method? A number of things,
actually. First, the only point this method is likely to draw any
strikes is right at the point where your nymph begins to lift off
from the depths of the river.

The truth, which sets
The truth, which sets a couple free, is relegated to the background and buried under the surface.
3. “Working on the Relationship” often means trying to find a “middle ground.” There must be “something in common” that holds the couple together and make it better. Well, maybe there isn’t any “common ground!” And, just maybe that is good. Perhaps the differences, the extremes, give the couple fire and passion and create, together, that which each, at one level, is looking for.
4. “Working on the relationship? often means working hard to meet the needs of the other. I “sacrifice” my needs, or at least put them on the back burner, and intentionally go about “making my partner happy” by attending to his/her needs. This may work for a period of time but resentment at some point emerges since one or both believe that the need meeting is not being reciprocated to the degree he/she would like.
5. “Working on the relationship” often is thwarted because there is not enough depth.

Deseret News (Salt Lake City), May 1, 2010 by Emiley Morgan Deseret News
HURRICANE, Washington County — Hurricane police are seeking information regarding a child rape case that may span two counties.
Brady Heber Aiken, 26, was arrested Thursday for investigation of rape of a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child after he came to police and told them he wanted to talk, Hurricane police spokeswoman Nancy Perkins said. Officers interviewed Aiken and then booked him into the Washington County Jail.
While Aiken is cooperating with police, “there is reason to believe there’s more than one (victim),” Perkins said. Investigators are also looking at another incident in Kane County.
Hurricane Police Sgt. Stacey Gubler said police “are hoping other victims come forward.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Gubler at 435-635-9663.
